\"ImageDANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University<\/a>\u2019s new Visual and Performing Arts Center<\/a> will soon welcome to its stage an award-winning Broadway star who will share the ins and outs of theatre life with students.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Tony-Award winning actress Cady Huffman<\/a> will conduct a Musical Theatre Audition Master Class from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014,<\/strong> in the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university\u2019s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. A master class is given to students by an expert of the discipline they are studying, usually in the arts. The public is invited to observe the Master Class at no cost.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Huffman will provide tips for some of the university\u2019s music and musical theatre majors who hope to pursue careers in the industry. She received a Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for her role as \u201cUlla\u201d in \u201cThe Producers\u201d and later revived the character for a season of HBO\u2019s comedy \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm.\u201d She also received a Tony nomination for \u201cThe Will Rogers Follies\u201d and the Outer Critics\u2019 Circle Award for \u201cThe Nance.\u201d Other stage credits include \u201cSteel Pier,\u201d \u201cDame Edna,\u201d \u201cBig Deal\u201d and \u201cLa Cage aux Folles.\u201d She is a regular food judge on Food Network\u2019s \u201cIron Chef America.\u201d<\/p>\n
