DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Photographer and author David Bacon<\/a> will be on the campus of Western Connecticut State University to discuss his book, \u201cIllegal People \u2026 Living Under the Trees<\/a>,\u201d on Wednesday, Nov. 16<\/strong>, 2011.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The discussion will begin at 2 p.m. on the main floor of the Ruth Haas library on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The public is invited to this free lecture about U.S. immigration policy and its effect on displacement and migration. Bacon currently has a photo exhibit on display at the library.<\/p>\n

\n Bacon\u2019s book focuses on migrant workers from Mexico who flee their native country for economic reasons and says in his book that migration is necessary to their survival. His book explores the difficult working conditions in the field, the housing crises in indigenous communities and efforts to preserve their culture.
