Ives Concert Park to participate in Fairfield County Giving Day<\/p>\n

Nonprofit entertainment venue vying for share of $100,000<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ImageDANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 On Friday, March 7, 2014,<\/strong> the Fairfield County Community Foundation<\/a>, in partnership with the Bank of America, will host Fairfield County Giving Day<\/a>, an initiative to raise $1 million in a 24-hour period of online giving for the hundreds of local nonprofit organizations in the county.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One of those nonprofits is Ives Concert Park, a world-class performing arts center that features an outdoor amphitheater on 40 wooded acres with a pond, gardens and public hiking trails on the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University<\/a> in Danbury. The venue has hosted numerous high-profile performers ranging from Tony Bennett to Peter Frampton, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, and The Moody Blues. Ives Concert Park also offers a wide variety of fine arts and family events including classical music, children\u2019s theater and multi-cultural festivals \u2014 many at reduced or no cost to the public.<\/p>\n

The Friends of the Ives, a 501(c)(3) fundraising arm of Ives Concert Park, will be one of the options for donors on Fairfield County Giving Day. Not only is the organization hoping to make new connections and receive direct support, but also the Friends of the Ives hopes to capitalize on an incentive structure created by the Fairfield County Community Foundation that could enable the organization to receive $25,000 or more in matching or incentive gifts.<\/p>\n

Residents of Fairfield County and beyond who value arts and culture in an inspiring outdoor setting can demonstrate their support by making a donation through a fast, easy and secure online donation website on Friday, March 7, at www.FCGives.org<\/a> and selecting The Friends of the Ives to receive their gift.<\/p>\n
