The public is invited to the following events and admission is free:<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\t<strong>Monday, April 11<\/strong>, at 6 p.m.: Reading by award-winning fiction author Paola Corso. Her most recent book, \u201cCatina\u2019s Haircut: A Novel in Stories,\u201d is a Sons of Italy National Book Club Selection and included on Library Journal\u2019s \u201cFirst Novels: Fall Firsts\u201d notable list. This will be held in Room 103 in Warner Hall on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\t<strong>Tuesday, April 12<\/strong>, at 1:30 p.m.: A panel discussion, \u201cEverything You Learned on Facebook is a Lie,\u201d will be conducted by students of the university\u2019s Master of Fine Arts program. The lecture will explore the relationship between social media and public opinion with a focus on where the burden of proof lies. This also will be held in Room 103 in Warner Hall.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<strong> Tuesday, April 12<\/strong>, at 4 p.m. \u201cThe Making of An Anthology\u201d will be conducted by Anne Witkavitch, a WCSU assistant professor of writing and editor of \u201cPress Pause Moments: Essays about Life Transitions.\u201d The discussion also will be held in Room 103 in Warner Hall.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\t<strong>Wednesday, April 13<\/strong>, at 2 p.m.: An \u201cOnline Journalism\u201d panel will include editors from online news media such as Patch and The Connecticut Mirror. This event will be held in Room 201 in the Student Center on the Midtown campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\t<strong>Friday, April 15<\/strong>, at 6 p.m.: Poetry performance of \u201cOgunquit\u201d by Confluence will be held in Alumni Hall on the Midtown campus. \u201cConfluence,\u201d a creation of J.D. Scrimgeour, a writing professor at WCSU, and Phillip Swanson. Both on the faculty of Salem State College in Massachusetts, the two men created Confluence to merge music and art.
