Excitement builds as Homecoming 2014 approaches
Week of events leading up to game has something for everyone <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\"ImageDANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 The Western Connecticut State University<\/a> Colonials<\/a>,<\/u><\/span> at 5-2, are looking forward to a great homecoming game against Worcester State on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014<\/strong>. But the excitement doesn\u2019t start there. The entire university is gearing up for a week full of events leading up to the 5 p.m. game.<\/p>\n

The WCSU field hockey team, under the direction of 10-year head coach Dani McDonnell, will take on Fitchburg State University in an important Little East Conference match at 7 p.m.<\/strong> at the Westside Athletic Complex on the Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. This will be the Colonials\u2019 annual \u201cPink Game\u201d to bring awareness to and raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. Free and the public is invited. Shakespeare’s \u201cTwelfth Night\u201d is the original take on sexual identity and the vagaries of love. It combines mistaken identity with the plights of a cross-dressing aristocratic woman and her missing twin brother, an intoxicated uncle and his foolish friends, a beautiful lady-in-waiting and all types in between. Dr. Eva Berger will discuss \u201cWar as Routine: Photojournalism and Cultural Values in Israel\u201d at 6 p.m.<\/strong> in Room 125 of the Science Building on the Midtown campus. Berger teaches media history and criticism at the College of Management Academic Studies in Rishon Letzion, Israel, where she has also served as dean. She has been a frequent commentator in Israeli media about issues relating to media, public relations and film history. Free and the public is invited. Open to WCSU faculty, staff, students, alumni and parents only, and guests must be 21 or over to consume alcohol. <\/p>\n

The WCSU Alumni Association will host the Class of 1964 Golden Reunion Celebration at 4 p.m.<\/strong> in Room 218 of the Classroom Building on the Westside campus. Student-athletes will be collecting donations to raise awareness of breast cancer and funds collected will be donated to the New Haven Breast Health Center. The WCSU Student Government Association will present the \u201cKevin Hart<\/a> Comedy Show\u201d at 9:30 p.m.<\/strong> in the Feldman Arena of the O\u2019Neill Center on the Westside campus. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. General admission ticket prices are $50 for the floor, $35 for a seat back and $20 for bleachers, plus fees. Student ticket prices are $25 for the floor, $17 for seat backs and $10 for bleachers. Student tickets may be purchased in person at the Info Desks in the Student Center on the Midtown campus, or the Campus Center on the Westside campus. The public can only purchase tickets at www.wcsu.edu\/tickets<\/a>. Guests should park in the Fifth Avenue Garage on the Midtown campus the night of the event. All cell phones must be turned off during the performance.<\/p>\n
