Admission will be free and the public is  invited. Panelists will include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#013;\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ct.gov\/dcf\/lib\/dcf\/pressreleases\/center_for_childrens_advocacy_award_april_2013__3_.pdf\">Tammy       Sneed,<\/a> director of girls\u2019 services at the Department of Children and       Families for the state of Connecticut and recipient of the 2013 Champion       of Children Award presented by the Center for Children\u2019s Advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;\n      <\/li>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<li>&#013;\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/wcogd.org\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=14&amp;Itemid=11\">Melanie       Danyliw,<\/a> director of training, program development and volunteer       services at the Women\u2019s Center of Greater Danbury.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;\n      <\/li>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<li>&#013;\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/barnabainstitute.org\/wordpress\/?page_id=46\">Frank Barnaba,<\/a> president of the Barnaba Institute in Trumbull, which he co-founded in       2006 to carry on his international activism for more than three decades in       education and outreach to raise awareness of sex trafficking and       exploitation.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;\n      <\/li>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<li>&#013;\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0;margin-bottom: 0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.polisci.uconn.edu\/people\/faculty\/?jane_gordon\">Dr. Jane       Gordon,<\/a> associate professor of political science and African American       studies at the University of Connecticut and a specialist on contemporary       slavery.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;\n      <\/li>\n<p>&#013;\n    <\/ul>\n<p>The forum will kick off a week of free campus events  sponsored by WCSU student organizations dedicated to the goal of educating and  heightening awareness in the community about the human trafficking issue in the  United States and worldwide, including a debate society discussion and outdoor  art festival and music events. Additional information about scheduled activities  may be obtained from the events calendar on the WCSU website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/newsevents\/events.asp\">www.wcsu.edu\/newsevents\/events.asp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0\">\u201cHuman trafficking is the fastest-growing criminal industry  in the world today, yet many people are unaware this form of modern-day slavery  still exists,\u201d noted \u201cPrice of Life\u201d program coordinator and WCSU student Dena  Virzera. She observed that the diverse events aim to invite the community to  engage in a meaningful way in discussion of human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top:0\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman;font-size:16px\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0\" \/>&#013;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"margin-top: 0\"><em>      Western Connecticut State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic programs.
