{"id":510,"date":"2019-07-17T18:18:25","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/news-archives\/inventionconvention\/"},"modified":"2019-07-17T18:18:25","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:18:25","slug":"inventionconvention","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/news-archives\/inventionconvention\/","title":{"rendered":"2011 City&#8217;s youngest inventors to display their creations at Western"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"sharingTools\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/sharingtools.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"breadcrumb\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/breadcrumb.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n    &#013;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014  Using their innovative and creative skills, 177 Danbury school students will gather at Western Connecticut State University next week to vie for the spots at this year\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctinventionconvention.org\/\">Connecticut Invention Convention<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>This is the first year that the city\u2019s public schools will hold a Danbury Invention Convention from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on <strong>Thursday, April 7<\/strong>, at the university\u2019s Westside Campus Center Ballroom, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Students from Great Plain, Pembroke, Shelter Rock and Stadley Rough elementary schools and Rogers Park Middle School. Approximately 25 of those students will be selected to present their inventions at the CIC, held May 14 in Storrs, Conn.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to view the inventions at the Danbury competition from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Judging and announcement of the winners will be between 5:30 and 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact the Office of University Relations at (203) 837-8486.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Western Connecticut State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic programs.
