DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University will host three events this month sponsored by the university\u2019s Roots & Shoots<\/a> organization to celebrate Animal Week. Each event will be on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The events will be free and the public is invited. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monday, April 16, 2012<\/strong> \u2013 Talons! Birds of Prey: At noon, an eagle, hawk and owl will take flight over the Midtown campus Quadrangle, as a trainer discusses each bird. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2022\tTuesday, April 17, 2012<\/strong> \u2013 Snakes-n-Scales: At noon, reptiles will be on display in the Student Center Theater. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2022\tWednesday, April 18, 2012<\/strong> \u2013 Wolf Conservation Demonstration: At noon, Atka, an Arctic gray wolf from the Wolf Conservation Center<\/a> in South Salem, N.Y., will be in Alumni Hall. Atka will be accompanied by a Wolf Conservation Center staffer who will talk about wolf behavior, habitat and more. <\/p>\n

The Roots & Shoots program at WCSU, started by primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall<\/a>, focuses on making positive change for people, animals and the environment.<\/p>\n
