DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 It\u2019s hot out, why fight it? Embrace summer this weekend with two shows at Ives Concert Park on the Western Connecticut State University<\/a> Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Summerland Tour, featuring Everclear<\/a>, Live<\/a>, Filter<\/a> and Sponge<\/a>, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19<\/strong>. After a wildly successful trek last year, Art Alexakis, frontman for alternative rock outfit Everclear, announced that he\u2019s bringing Summerland back for 2013, hitting more than 35 U.S. cities with an edgier sound. Gates open at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

Alternative country and folk rock singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile<\/a> will perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday,<\/strong> July 20<\/strong>. Opening will be Jamestown Revival<\/a>, which merges the sounds of the South with classic American and Western rock. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets for both shows are available at ticketmaster.com<\/a> and ticketmaster kiosks in area Walmart stores. They\u2019ll also be available at the Ives gate, cash only, on the nights of the shows.<\/p>\n
