The concert will be sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank as part of the Fine Arts and Family Series at Ives Concert Park, located on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The program will begin with Symphony No.1, composed when Mozart was 8 years old. Mozart\u2019s solo writing is represented by the Flute concerto in G performed by Dr. Keri Walker, the orchestra\u2019s principal flutist and faculty member of WCSU\u2019s department of music. The composer\u2019s masterful opera writing will be represented in this program by the \u201cMarriage of Figaro Overture,\u201d as well as two arias from the same opera: Porgi amor and Dove sono, both performed by Danbury native Cidalia Alves. Closing the program, the orchestra will perform Symphony No. 41: \u201cJupiter,\u201d considered by many as the crowning achievement of true classical symphony writing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Western Connecticut State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic programs.
