DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University<\/a> will host the Studio Art Quilt Association of Connecticut\u2019s exhibition, \u201cLocal Color,\u201d in the Ruth Haas Library on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury, through June 14. There will be an opening reception from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013<\/strong>, in the library. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cLocal Color\u201d is a juried, traveling exhibition of fiber art created by members of Studio Art Quilt Associates in the Connecticut region, celebrating the beauty and diversity of Connecticut. The jurors, Fran Phillips and Michele Palmer, chose 49 quilts, made by 36 quilters, to be put on display out of 99 entries. <\/p>\n

Studio Art Quilt Associates Inc.<\/a> is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional development, documentation and publications.<\/p>\n
