{"id":572,"date":"2019-07-17T18:18:30","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:18:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/news-archives\/lambda_pi_eta\/"},"modified":"2019-07-17T18:18:30","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:18:30","slug":"lambda_pi_eta","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/news-archives\/lambda_pi_eta\/","title":{"rendered":"WCSU  2016 &#8211; Lambda Pi Eta"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"sharingTools\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/sharingtools.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"breadcrumb\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/breadcrumb.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n    &#013;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Fifteen undergraduate students at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/\">Western Connecticut State  University<\/a> have received recognition for their superior achievement in  communication and general academic studies with their induction this spring  into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.natcom.org\/lambdapieta\/\">Lambda Pi Eta,<\/a> the collegiate  honor society of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.natcom.org\/Default.aspx\">National  Communication Association.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The 2016  inductees into the WCSU Beta Iota chapter of Lambda Pi Eta include juniors and  seniors who have achieved grade point averages of 3.0 or higher for all  academic courses and 3.25 or higher for all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/com\/\">communication<\/a> courses during their studies at Western. Lambda Pi Eta seeks to foster and  reward outstanding academic work while stimulating student interest in the  field of communication studies. Associate Professor of Communication and Media  Arts Dr. Jay Brower serves as faculty adviser to the Beta Iota chapter, founded  in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The  chapter formally inducted the students during a ceremony celebrated with  faculty, family and friends on May 3, 2016, in the President\u2019s Room at the Westside  Classroom Building on the university\u2019s Westside campus in Danbury. This year\u2019s  inductees, who hold lifetime membership in Lambda Pi Eta, are:<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca  Antonaccio, Emilia Dabrowski and Grace Robles, all of Danbury; Victoria  Ferreira and Alexandra Zor, both of Bethel; Bianca Bennett, of Brookfield;  Catherine Faus, of Lakeville; Denzel Odiase, of Norwalk; Kaleigh Cragan, of  Oxford; Kyle Kloiber, of Redding; Robert Phillips and Michelle Spanedda, both  of Sandy Hook; Daniel Palmieri, of Seymour; Mary Reyes, of Stamford; and  Kathleen Kelly, of Stratford. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact the Office of University  Relations at (203) 837-8486.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p><em>Western Connecticut  State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic  programs.
