A Celebration of Food and Music to Benefit the <a href=\"http:\/\/anagraceproject.org\/\">Ana Grace Project<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/ia\/greene-scholarship.asp\">The Ana Grace M\u00e1rquez &#8211; Greene Scholarship Fund at WCSU<\/a>&#8221; will be on <strong>Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015<\/strong>, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/svpa\/svpa-center.asp\">Visual and Performing Arts Center<\/a> (VPAC) on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/\">Western Connecticut State University<\/a> Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The public is invited. For tickets, go to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/love-wins-a-celebration-of-food-and-music-to-benefit-the-ana-grace-project-the-ana-grace-marquez-tickets-18401287747\"> www.eventbrite.com\/o\/visual-and-performing-arts-center-at-western-connecticut-state-university-6275173871<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature internationally recognized French chef, television personality and author <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/food\/chefs\/jacques-pepin\/\">Jacques P\u00e9pin<\/a>; Grammy Award-winning vocalist <a href=\"http:\/\/kurtelling.com\/\">Kurt Elling<\/a>; 2010 National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master pianist <a href=\"http:\/\/kennybarron.com\/\">Kenny Barron<\/a>; bassist <a href=\"http:\/\/kennybarron.com\/\">John Patitucci<\/a>; drummer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lewisnash.com\/\">Lewis Nash<\/a> and WCSU Coordinator of Jazz Studies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jimmygreene.com\/\">Jimmy Greene<\/a> on saxophone. It is being hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/music\/\">WCSU Department of Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception in the VPAC lobby. During the reception, P\u00e9pin will participate in a question-and-answer session. At 8 p.m., Elling, Barron, Patitucci, Nash and Greene will perform in the VPAC Veronica Hagman Concert Hall. Immediately following the concert, P\u00e9pin will sign his book, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Jacques-P\u00e9pin-Heart-Soul-Kitchen\/dp\/0544301986\">Jacques P\u00e9pin Heart &amp; Soul in the Kitchen<\/a>\u201d; wine expert and author Claudine P\u00e9pin will sign her book, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Kids-Cook-French-cuisinent-francaise\/dp\/159253953X\">Kids Cook French<\/a>\u201d; and Greene will sign copies of his CD, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mackavenue.com\/store\/mac1093\">Beautiful Life<\/a>,\u201d during a light dessert reception.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The Ana Grace Project was created in the aftermath of the Dec. 14, 2012, shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. The organization\u2019s mission is to \u201cpromote love, community and connection for every child and family.\u201d Ana Grace was the beloved daughter of Jimmy Greene and Nelba M\u00e1rquez-Greene, and younger sister of devoted brother, Isaiah.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0\">The Ana Grace M\u00e1rquez &#8211; Greene Scholarship Fund at WCSU also was created after Dec. 14, 2012.
