WCSU lecture: \u2018The Good Life: Ethics and Identity in Ancient Greece\u2019 <\/p>\n

DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 What was the meaning of life for the Ancient Greeks? How did the Ancient Greeks conceive of happiness? Is our society becoming \u201cGreek\u201d once more? <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

These questions will be explored in \u201cThe Good Life: Ethics and Identity in Ancient Greece,\u201d a lecture hosted by Western Connecticut State University<\/a> and presented by Marcello Kilani<\/a> at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016<\/strong>. Kilani, a Dean\u2019s Fellow at The New School for Social Research<\/a> completing a Ph.D. in Philosophy, is the 2016 Macricostas<\/a> Professor of Hellenic Studies at Western.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The one-hour talk will be held in the Student Center Theater on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Hosted by the WCSU Center for Culture and Values<\/a>, the lecture is free and the public is invited. It is funded by a grant from the foundation of Brookfield industrialist and philanthropist Constantine \u201cDeno\u201d Macricostas and his wife Marie.<\/p>\n
