DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 As spring approaches, students and staff affiliated with the Jane Goodall Center for Excellence in Environmental<\/a> Studies<\/a> at Western Connecticut State University<\/a> are preparing to get their hands dirty in the university\u2019s Permaculture Garden<\/a> on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Launched during the 2014-15 academic year, the garden serves multiple purposes, including course curriculum across many disciplines \u2014 and its yield provides healthy, locally grown food for WCSU students in the campus cafeterias and at area food pantries. <\/p>\n

The community is invited to learn more about permaculture gardening and to participate hands-on in the soil preparation and planting of WestConn\u2019s garden at several upcoming volunteer work days that are open to the public.<\/p>\n
