The topic, \u201cInterdisciplinary  Research Connections: Code Breakers and Code Makers,\u201d will be addressed by  Distinguished Professor of Writing, Linguistics &amp; Creative Process <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/writing\/faculty.asp\">Dr.  Edward Hagan<\/a>; Professor of Mathematics <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.wcsu.edu\/roccac\/\">Dr. Charles  Rocca<\/a>; and Associate Professor of Management Information Systems <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/asb\/mis\/faculty\/\">Dr.  Paul Nugent<\/a>. Professor of Communication and  Media Arts Dr. Bill Petkanas will moderate. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the Office of Academic  Affairs, the event will include a panel discussion and a reception. The event  will be an interdisciplinary conversation drawing connections between recent  scholarship by WCSU faculty. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Hagan has focused on contemporary  Irish and American fiction and essay writing. He is particularly interested in  what literary trends tell us about contemporary consciousness. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Nugent\u2019s research focuses on the  sociology of engineering work, the philosophy of technology, and information  security.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Rocca\u2019s current research generally  focuses on the history of mathematics and cryptology, and how the disciplines  are interconnected. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Copies of the panelists\u2019 research  papers and monographs are available in the Ruth Haas Library on the Midtown  campus.
