{"id":843,"date":"2019-07-17T18:18:54","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/news-archives\/senior-thesis-exhibition\/"},"modified":"2019-07-17T18:18:54","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:18:54","slug":"senior-thesis-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/news-archives\/senior-thesis-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"WCSU 2017 &#8211; Animal Week events"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"sharingTools\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/sharingtools.inc\" -->&#013;\n    <\/div>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n    &#013;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Eighteen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/\">Western Connecticut State  University<\/a> undergraduate art majors who are candidates this year for the Bachelor  of Arts degree will present their works in the Senior Thesis Exhibition running  from <strong>April 19 through May 4, 2017, <\/strong>in the  Art Gallery at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/svpa\/svpa-center.asp\">Visual  and Performing Arts Center<\/a> on the university\u2019s Westside campus, 43 Lake  Ave. Extension in Danbury.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>A reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibition will  be from 6 to 8 p.m. on <strong>Wednesday, April 19, 2017,<\/strong> at the gallery. Admission will be free to the reception and the exhibition, and  the public is invited. The gallery will be open for viewing from noon to 4 p.m.  Monday through Thursday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The WCSU <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/art\/\">Department of  Art<\/a> organizes the Senior Thesis Exhibition each spring as a capstone experience  for students pursuing the B.A. in Art in one of five areas of concentration:  graphic design, illustration, photography, studio art in painting and studio  art in sculpture. This year\u2019s exhibition will feature seven art majors with a concentration  in graphic design, two in illustration, seven in photography, and one each in  studio art in painting and studio art in sculpture.
