Admission to the screening of “She Said He Said” will be free, and the public is invited to attend.

Barone, associate professor and coordinator of the digital film, television and video production program in the WCSU communication department, received a commission from the international publisher Pearson Education to create a film with a series of dramatic scenarios that will accompany a Pearson collection of interpersonal textbooks and online media distributed in North America. Barone served as director and executive producer of the film, with WCSU student Eric Steiner collaborating as scriptwriter. Other crew members are WCSU student Brittany Nisco as line producer, WCSU graduate Kevin Jones as unit production manager and director of cinematography, and commercial TV and film professional Chris Allen as head sound man.

Auditions were held in May to form a cast of more than 30 actors including WCSU students and faculty and performers from the greater Danbury area. Filmed and edited on a tight production schedule during the summer, “’She Said He Said’ delivers poignant, realistic insights into contemporary college life in this hilarious 40-minute short,” Barone said. Among the cast members are WCSU faculty members Dr. Bill Petkanas, Dr. Chris Kukk and Mary Ann Murtha, and regional actors David Bibbey and Kelly Mullins.

Barone noted that educators who use Pearson interpersonal communication textbooks will have access to the scenarios from the film, introducing the WCSU production to students across North America. He has produced several previous film projects for Pearson Education, including two that earned Telly Awards.

For more information, call the Office of University Relations at (203) 837-8486.

Western Connecticut State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic programs.
