She encouraged students to grow and held them to high standards.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>When Fenwick died unexpectedly in 2012 at age 38, her husband, Michael Damici, and her JLA faculty mentor, Professor Emeritus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/ia\/archives\/comm-may2007.pdf\">Dr. Harold Schramm<\/a>, founded the Melissa E. Fenwick and Harold B. Schramm Justice and Law Administration Endowed Scholarship to provide annual grants recognizing student achievement in the JLA program. Schramm shared an office with Fenwick until his retirement. The purpose of the scholarship is to honor the achievement that both brought to WCSU while providing financial support to students.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014<\/strong>, a silent action to support the endowed scholarship will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at St. Ann&#8217;s Melkite Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury.
