DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Readings from published authors and poets and a roundtable discussion on the future of journalism will be among the public events at Western Connecticut State University\u2019s Spring Writing Festival.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The public is invited to the following free events during the week of April 12: <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2022\tAt 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 12, poet and editor of the annual \u201cBest American Poetry\u201d series of anthologies David Lehman will read from his poetry on the first floor of Warner Hall on the university\u2019s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2022\tAt 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, Paola Corso, author of \u201cGiovanna\u2019s 86 Circles\u201d will read from her fiction in the first floor of Warner Hall.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2022\t\u201cThe Future of News\u201d will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, in the Student Center Theater on the Midtown campus. A panel of news professionals will discuss convergence journalism, new media formats and the role of journalism in the next decade. The panel of news professionals will include national investigative journalist Russ Baker, News-Times executive editor Art Cummings and Jason Leopold, The Public Record online news site.<\/p>\n
