{"id":930,"date":"2019-07-17T18:19:02","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/news-archives\/thecatinthehat\/"},"modified":"2019-07-17T18:19:02","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:19:02","slug":"thecatinthehat","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/news-archives\/thecatinthehat\/","title":{"rendered":"2015  WCSU to present &#8216;The Cat in the Hat&#8217; in May"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"sharingTools\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/sharingtools.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"breadcrumb\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/breadcrumb.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n    &#013;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/w\/newsevents\/images\/CAtintheHat_press9416.jpg\" alt=\"Image of 'The Cat in the Hat'\" width=\"420\" height=\"300\" align=\"right\" \/>DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\">Western Connecticut State University<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/theatrearts\/\">Department of Theatre Arts<\/a> will present \u201cThe Cat in the Hat\u201d at 3 and 7 p.m. on <strong>Saturday, May 2,<\/strong> and 3 p.m. on <strong>Sunday, May 3, 2015<\/strong>, in the MainStage Theatre of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/svpa\/\">Visual and Performing Arts Center<\/a> on the university\u2019s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>One of Dr. Seuss\u2019 best-loved stories, \u201cThe Cat in the Hat\u201d will bring out the childhood imagination for viewers of all ages and is perfect for the whole family. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The WCSU cast will include Howard Powell, of West Haven, as the Cat; Michael Battista, of North Haven, as the Fish; Alexandra Allyn, of Trumbull, as Thing 1; Jared Starky, of Columbia, as Thing 2; Tomas Ovitt, of New Milford, as the Boy; Jennifer Wilson, of West Haven, as Sally; Dan Dressel, of Southbury, and Christina Branfur, of Northford, as the Ensemble\/Puppeteers; and Stephanie Brown, of Waterbury, as Mother. Dressel and Branfur also will be the understudies for Cat and Fish along with Johnna Fettinger, of Southbury, who is the Swing\/Understudy. Anthony DePoto will direct.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for seniors and non-WCSU students, plus fees.
