{"id":941,"date":"2019-07-17T18:19:01","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:19:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/news-archives\/theatre-one-acts-2015\/"},"modified":"2019-07-17T18:19:01","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T18:19:01","slug":"theatre-one-acts-2015","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/news-archives\/theatre-one-acts-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"2015  WCSU theatre arts students to stage one-act plays"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"sharingTools\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/sharingtools.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<div id=\"breadcrumb\"><!-- #include virtual=\"\/include\/breadcrumb.inc\" --><\/div>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n    &#013;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 The Studio Theatre at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\">Western Connecticut State University<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/wcsu.edu\/svpa\/svpa-center.asp\">Visual and Performing Arts Center<\/a> on the university\u2019s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury, will be the venue on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 10 and 11, for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/the-dirty-dozen-12-plays-to-better-your-life-tickets-19363875874\">The Dirty Dozen: 12 Plays to Better Your Life<\/a>.\u201d The series of one-act plays written and directed by theatre arts students and produced by Caitlin White will be presented from 7 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 11. The performances will be free and open to the public; however, seats are limited and must be reserved at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/the-dirty-dozen-12-plays-to-better-your-life-tickets-19363875874\">www.eventbrite.com\/e\/the-dirty-dozen-12-plays-to-better-your-life-tickets-19363875874<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>The plays will be divided into two groups, \u201cGroup A\u201d and \u201cGroup B,\u201d each including six plays. Group A will perform at 7 p.m. and Group B will perform at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. The order will be reversed on Friday, Dec. 11. Each play is roughly 10 minutes long. <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>Featured plays include:<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf\t\u201cWay of Tea\u201d directed by Jessie Zwiesler and written by Ty Adams<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cThe Heist\u201d directed by Ally Olinyk and written by Matt Greene<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cOn the Porch One Crisp Spring Morning\u201d directed by Joseph DeVellis and written by Alex Dremann <br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cThat Midnight Rodeo\u201d directed by Kayla Murphy and written by Mary Sue Price<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cPost-Its (Notes on a Marriage)\u201d directed by Alex Allyn and written by Paul Dooley and Winnie Holzman<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cBeer Girl\u201d directed by Becca Hayes and written by Walter Wykes<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cSmoke Scenes\u201d directed by Kaeley Denegre and written by Nick Zagone<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cThe Proposal\u201d directed by Danielle Kucky and written by Steven Bittrich<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cFog\u201d directed by Andrew Gusciora and written by Don Nigro<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cFamily 2.0\u201d directed by Nicola Gillotte and written by Walter Wykes<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201cTraces of Memory\u201d directed by Megan O&#8217;Callaghan and written by Ann Wuehler<br \/>&#013;<br \/>\n      \u25cf\t\u201c2B (or not 2B)\u201d directed by Caitlin White and written by Jacquelyn Reingold<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>There will be three brief intermissions during the performance, at which the Western Improv Group (WIG), one of the theatre arts department\u2019s clubs, will sell concessions.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Caitlin White at <a href=\"mailto:white242@connect.wcsu.edu\">white242@connect.wcsu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p \/>&#013;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#013;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Western Connecticut State University offers outstanding faculty in a range of quality academic programs.
