WCSU sets commencement dates; names speakers, honorees
\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

DANBURY, CONN. <\/strong>\u2014 Western Connecticut State University<\/a>\u2019s May 2014 commencement ceremonies will feature remarks by the president and chief executive officer of the Western Connecticut Health Network, Dr. John Murphy, and author and educational futurist, Anya Kamenetz. Gov. Dannel Malloy will also be present to make comments to the undergraduate class.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Murphy, the first physician to serve Danbury Hospital as its president and CEO, will deliver the commencement address at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014<\/strong>, at WCSU\u2019s graduate ceremony<\/a> at the Stephen Feldman Arena, William A. O\u2019Neill Athletic and Convocation Center on the university\u2019s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The public is invited.<\/p>\n

WCSU has recognized Murphy for his exemplary leadership and innovation in health care administration as the recipient of the university\u2019s 2011 Macricostas Entrepreneur of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kamenetz, recognized for her insights into change and technology, is a syndicated columnist and contributing writer for \u201cFast Company\u201d magazine. She will address graduates at the undergraduate ceremony<\/a>, at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2014<\/strong>, at the Athletic Practice Field on the Westside campus. The ceremony will take place rain or shine and the public is invited.<\/p>\n
