WCSU ranked a top college in Connecticut for future earnings

DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University has been named a top college in Connecticut by GradReports for median early-career salary. Based on data collected from more than 4.6 million graduates from the U.S. Department of Education resource, College Scorecard, WCSU ranks 10th in the state of Connecticut for median early-career salary.

GradReports uses its proprietary Salary Score to formulate rankings based on median alumni earnings in the year after graduating. Using the salary data of more than 4.6 million graduates, GradReports was able to determine the Salary Scores for more than 2,200 schools and 334 majors. WCSU’s score was then compared to the alumni salaries of students in the same programs across all schools. WCSU’s overall Salary Score ranks well above the national average and classifies it as one of the top schools in Connecticut.

GradReports is a data-driven college rankings and reviews website. It ranks schools on a scale from one to 100 based on median early-career salaries and debt, with 100 being the highest possible score. WCSU has a ranking of 54 for students graduating with a bachelor’s degree, and 75 for students graduating with a master’s degree. According to GradReports, WCSU is also ranked 10th for Best Bachelor’s Degrees in Connecticut, and 23rd for Best Education Master’s Degrees.
