APR. 26

Assistant Professor of Biological and Environmental Science Dr. Hannah Reynolds will discuss "Evolutionary Events in Psychedelic and Pathogenic Fungal Genomes" at 4 p.m. in Room 123 of the Science Building on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Fungi interact in a variety of ways with plants and animals, from mutualism, intoxication and parasitism. Among the chemicals influencing humans and human society are the psychedleic compounds such as psilocybe, which have been celebrated and feared in multiple cultures for centuries. Offered as part of the continuing "Research Seminar" series hosted by the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, the event will be free and the public is invited.
