Whether you&#8217;re the first in your family to attend college, come from a modest income background, or have a documented disability, TRIO SSS is here to support your journey to graduation and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000080\"><strong>Our Mission<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The TRIO Support Services at WCSU is committed to the success of students who are first-generation, income-eligible, and\/or students with disabilities. our mission is to empower scholars to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Enhance the positive skills, knowledge, and attributes needed to complete a WCSU Bachelor&#8217;s degree<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Achieve maximum academic success and career readiness<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Graduate as well-rounded, skilled, and self-actualized professionals and citizens<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000080\"><strong>What SSS at WCSU Offers: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Academic and personal coaching<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Tutoring and mentoring services<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Career counseling<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Financial literacy education<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Student Success Center lab with free printing<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Graduate school &amp; professional school planning<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assistance in completing federal and state financial aid applications<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Cultural and social events<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">textbook, laptop, calculator loans<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monitoring of academic progress<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000080\"><strong>Participants admitted to WCSU SSS program commit to:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attend weekly tutoring and mentoring sessions with SSS Academic Success Coaches<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Participate in academic and professional development programming until graduation from WCSU<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attend at least two SSS sponsored events during each semester<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000080\"><strong>Who is Eligible to Join WCSU&#8217;s SSS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">In order to be considered, students must meet <em>at least one or more\u00a0<\/em>of the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Be a first generational college student (neither parent has a four-year degree from a U.S. institution of higher education)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Meet federal income guidelines<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Have a documented disability<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">And also be:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">A U.S. citizen or permanent resident<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Admitted and enrolled, or eligible to be enrolled, at WCSU in the current or next academic term<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Seeking academic support<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Questions?
