The office works closely with all departments to develop campus facilities that promote the university\u2019s academic mission. Its goal is to ensure an aesthetic continuity that enhances the educational experience for students and faculty while enriching the Greater Danbury region.<\/p>\n<p>The department\u2019s main functions include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Facilities Space Planning and Architectural Design<\/li>\n<li>Capital Project Development and Initiation<\/li>\n<li>Interior Design\/Space Planning\/Furnishings, Fixtures &amp;Equipment Procurement &amp; Re-Assignment<\/li>\n<li>Project Bid Development\/Coordination<\/li>\n<li>Project and Construction Management<\/li>\n<li>Campus Master Planning<\/li>\n<li>Fiscal Management and Cost Control<\/li>\n<li>Facilities Liaison for Capital Projects<\/li>\n<li>State Compliance Oversight of Agency-Administered Projects<\/li>\n<li>Development and Reinforcement of Campus Design Standards<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Facilities Planning and Architecture oversees a wide range of projects that support the needs of the university\u2019s mission, its priorities and objectives.\u00a0 The department continues to implement the university\u2019s 2007 Campus Master Plan, which identifies capital projects that would enable the university to meet its strategic plan.<\/p>\n<p>The Master Plan was updated beginning in 2015.\u00a0 Revisiting the planning process allows the university to evaluate options for long-term growth and development. It recommends renovations and\/or additions, the construction of new buildings, and the adaptive re-use of existing structures.
