Thefts are not only the concern of              the victim and the police, but of the entire university community. To help prevent thefts and other losses, your              university police department has initiated &#8220;Operation Identification&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>This program is designed to inform the              community of crime prevention techniques which may be used to deter burglars and thieves, and to assist police personnel              in recovering, identifying, and returning stolen property whenever a property crime occurs.<\/p>\n<p>Operation ID is conducted in the following manner: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participants are encouraged to engrave or permanently mark their driver&#8217;s license or social security number on                 valuable possessions and to record the serial numbers to provide a ready reference if a crime occurs. <\/li>\n<li>Students and other participants will be provided with a door decal to inform would-be thieves that property in                 the room has been marked. <\/li>\n<li>Use the following form to record your                 valuables.
