{"id":582,"date":"2019-04-01T14:00:56","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T14:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/registrar\/?page_id=582"},"modified":"2026-03-12T19:39:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T19:39:31","slug":"waitlist-registration-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/registrar\/waitlist-registration-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Waitlist Registration Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Waitlisting?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Waitlisting is a way to wait \u201cin line\u201d for a course that is full.<\/p>\n<p>If a seat becomes available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first student on the waitlist will receive an email notification to your WCSU Email account that will let you know if a seat becomes available.<\/li>\n<li>You will have a 48 hours from the time the email is sent to log into WolvesNet and add that class to your schedule.<\/li>\n<li>If you fail to register within the 48 hours, you will be dropped from the waitlist and that seat will open for the next student on the waitlist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0It is important that you check your WCSU email regularly so that you do not miss this notification.<\/strong> To accept the seat, login to WolvesNet, navigate to the registration screen and change Waitlist to Register.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I get waitlisted for a course if I have a registration hold?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No<\/strong>. Registration holds will prevent you from adding a waitlisted class, even if you are sent an email that a seat is available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do I need to meet pre-requisites to be placed on the waitlist?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes.<\/strong> You will need to meet the same requirements to waitlist for a course as you would if you were registering for that course. Students will not be able to waitlist for a class if you have not met the pre-requisites or corequisites (or if they are not currently taking the pre-requisite or co-requisite course). Students will not be able to waitlist if they do not meet the registration requirements or have special authorization permissions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Am I guaranteed a seat if I am on the waitlist?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No.<\/strong> Being on a waitlist does not constitute registration and does not guarantee you a seat in the course. Students should register for available open sections of the courses they need and want, and use the waitlist only to revise or optimize their schedules if a preferred section becomes available.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long am I on the waitlist?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are on the waitlist until a seat opens up.\u00a0 Two weeks prior to the start of the semester, anyone still on the waitlist will be dropped and will have to check\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reg-prod.ec.wcsu.edu\/StudentRegistrationSsb\/ssb\/term\/termSelection?mode=search\">Browse Classes<\/a> for available seats in classes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What if I am a full-time student, does waitlisting count towards full-time status?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No.<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are a full-time student, you must be registered full-time. The waitlisted class will not count towards you full-time status at the university.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The section I want to register for doesn\u2019t have a Waitlist.
