Welcome to the Macricostas School of Arts and Sciences at Western Connecticut State University. I collaborate with students, faculty and community partners \u2014 including our generous supporters \u2014 to create a close-knit college experience that is both practical and transformative. I aim for every student, faculty, and staff member to feel welcomed and safe.<\/p>\n

WCSU students are accomplished, diverse, and willing to work hard. Many return as alumni to share their success stories and mentor the next generation of students. I celebrate those qualities and I am honored to serve beside you all.<\/p>\n

The Macricostas School has a terrific history of achievement. We are the largest school on campus with 10 departments, 21 undergraduate majors, an associate degree, and six graduate programs. We are the liberal arts heart of the university where students debate The Big Questions, create their own majors, and explore important foundational courses that lead into most majors \u2014 and give our graduates the analytical and communication skills employers want.<\/p>\n

Our dedicated faculty help students succeed not just as scholars, but as productive employees and leaders in a range of industries, government, and the community, and as engaged citizens with a global worldview. They involve students in their world-class research and innovative courses. I support their passion for student learning and professional growth \u2014 from bringing in renowned speakers and leading study abroad trips to providing real-world professional experiences in the field.<\/p>\n

I hope you will visit me in Higgins Hall \u2014 right on the Quad in the center of Midtown.<\/p>\n
