This award is presented to a student in the Department of Social Sciences <\/span>who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship in, and service to, the <\/span>interdisciplinary social sciences program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

HOWARD G. POST SOCIOLOGY RECOGNITION AWARD:\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>LAUREN\u00a0<\/b>CONRAD<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This award was established by a sociology faculty member, the late Thomas <\/span>F. Howard, in memory of his uncle. The award recognizes a student in the <\/span>Department of Social Sciences who has shown outstanding participation and <\/span>scholastic achievement in the discipline of sociology.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This award was established to honor Economics Professor Emeritus Leonard <\/span>A. Dente for his dedicated service to the university. The award recognizes a <\/span>student in the Department of Social Sciences who has shown outstanding <\/span>participation and scholastic achievement in the discipline of economics.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This award was established to honor Professor Emeritus Dr. Russell Fryer for <\/span>his dedicated service to the university. The award identifies a student in the <\/span>Department of Social Sciences who has shown outstanding participation and <\/span>scholastic achievement in the discipline of political science.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This recognition award was established to honor Professor Emeritus of <\/span>Anthropology Dr. Truman A. Warner for his dedicated service to the university. <\/span>The award recognizes the outstanding student in the Department of Social <\/span>Sciences in terms of participation and scholastic achievements in the <\/span>discipline of anthropology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

THE WCSU-AAUP STEVEN WARD COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD:\u00a0 W<\/span><\/span><\/b>ILLIAM SILVIA, JR.<\/b>\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The WCSU-AAUP Steven Ward Community Service Award is given to an <\/span>undergraduate student who has an outstanding record of service to the <\/span>university and\/or the community. The award is made by the WCSU-AAUP <\/span>Executive Committee in the spring semester. The criterion for selection: the student <\/span>must have an outstanding record of service.
