Danielle Weiss (BA Biology, ecology option, \u201921)<\/h4>\n

Danielle Weiss <\/span><\/strong>presented a scientific poster titled <\/span>The effect of peridomestic microclimate on blacklegged ticks<\/span><\/em>, at the Entomological Society of America virtual Eastern Branch meeting in March 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

Danielle worked in Dr. Neeta Pardanani Connally\u2019s tick research lab for two summers before completing this project for her BIO490 Advanced Senior Research capstone experience. Her findings contribute to our understanding of backyard risk for acquiring Lyme disease in the northeastern United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brianna Caberson<\/span><\/strong> (DIMA\/Media Arts, 2019) on her new position as 2nd Assistant Camera for the upcoming feature film, <\/span>Last Call<\/span><\/em>, starring Jeremy Piven. Brianna started working her way up the professional cinematography ladder as a student and we\u2019re thrilled to hear about her latest production. <\/span>Last Call <\/span><\/em>was available in theaters and VOD this past March.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Laurie Weinstein<\/strong><\/span>, Emeritus Professor of Anthropology (she\/her) received a $3,500 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation from their Covid Resiliency Fund for the WCSU Jane Goodall Center Permaculture Garden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Christine Hegel<\/span><\/strong>, Associate Professor of Anthropology (she\/her) has been selected to oversee the New York component of The COVID-19 Crisis and the Informal Economy Study (Phase 2), funded by WIEGO and the International Development Research Center, Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Howell Williams<\/span><\/strong>, Assistant Professor of Political Science (he\/him) presented the paper \u201cMother on the Court: Amy Coney Barrett and the Racial Politics of American Motherhood,\u201d at the 2021 conference of the Political Studies Association\u2019s American Politics Group in January 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n
