Students from ALL MAJORS are invited to\u00a0participate and to share their work with the University community in a setting similar to a professional conference. Participation in WRD is fun, educational, and a good activity for students to list on their\u00a0resumes when applying for a job or to graduate\/professional schools.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event will be held on Friday, May 4th, 2018<\/strong> in the Science Building on the mid-town\u00a0campus. The event will begin at 10:00am with opening remarks, and presentations from two WCSU alumni speakers, followed by the presentation of student work. Student entries will be judged by\u00a0members of the university community and prizes for the top student presentations will be awarded by the Provost at the close of the event. Refreshments will be served. This year\u2019s alumni speakers will be\u00a0Dr. Jeremiah Johnson, Practitioner in Residence, from the University of New Haven (Justice & Law Administration) and Anthony DiDomenico, Product Specialist, from Czitek (Chemistry).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Students wishing to participate in WRD should write an abstract (100 word limit) summarizing their\u00a0research or creative work (abstract guidelines are available at https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/wrd\/guidelines\/). After the abstract is reviewed by the faculty mentor, students\u00a0should submit their abstracts electronically at www.wcsu.edu\/wrd anytime between March 12th, 2018 and the deadline of 4:00pm on April 5th, 2018. Late submissions will NOT be accepted for any\u00a0reason. The WRD Planning Committee will meet to review abstracts, and will contact students to let them know if their abstracts are accepted. At the time of submission, students will need to indicate\u00a0what kind of space they will require to present their work. For example, if the student is presenting a professional poster wall space will be required. If a student is presenting a computer presentation, an\u00a0electrical outlet may need to be available. If the student is performing a musical composition, a separate room may be necessary.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
