WCSU’s Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.\u00a0 As part of our accreditation, we measure the percent of our graduating students who score as competent or highly competent in the nine competencies set forth by the CSWE.\u00a0 We set a benchmark of 85% of each graduating class scoring as competent or higher in each competency.<\/h4>\n

Summary of the Program\u2019s Assessment Plan |<\/strong> Generalist Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are two instruments that are used to assess the percentage of students who are meeting the accreditation standards for the gener<\/span><\/span>alist level of practice for<\/span><\/span>\u00a0baccalaureate<\/span><\/span>\u00a0social work programs.\u00a0 The first measure<\/span><\/span>\u00a0includes scoring from a multi-stage<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Capstone Assessment<\/span><\/span>\u00a0paper\u00a0<\/span><\/span>assigned in<\/span><\/span>\u00a0SW<\/span><\/span>400<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Senior Integrative Seminar<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0which was developed as\u00a0<\/span><\/span>generalist practice\u00a0<\/span><\/span>capstone cours<\/span><\/span>e.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>This paper<\/span><\/span>, scored by faculty members,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0measures the students\u2019 understanding of and proficiency in exe<\/span><\/span>cuting the CSWE Competencies\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a paper where they describe their fictitious interactions with a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>client or client group\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from<\/span><\/span>\u00a0a film.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span>The second instrument is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>End of the Semester Field\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Evaluation which<\/span><\/span> is completed by field instructors, <\/span><\/span>practitioners<\/span><\/span>\u00a0who supervise students at their field practicums.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
