Previous experience includes  adjunct professor for WCSU and Quinnipiac University. She received her Bachelors  of Science in Nursing in 1992 from WCSU and her Masters in Nursing Education  from Southern Connecticut State University in 2000. In addition, Dr. Nielson  earned her post master degree for nurse practitioners from WCSU in 2003.  Recently she received her DNP from Sacred Heart University. She maintains an  active clinical practice in a local internal medicine office, and volunteers  for a clinic that offers free health care to the uninsured.
