Frank is a professor at WCSU [Technical Theatre/ Lighting Design/ Childrens Theatre/ Play Production]
He has 30 plus years in the theatre production and management, with a sprinkling of design ,direction and performing throughout his career. An alum of Western Frank spent his early years in technical direction and lighting in NY .
Then owner of The Corner Shop Scenic Studios, serving the most of NYs off broadway theatres, many dance and opera companies as well as trade, industrials and television at one time or another. Some of those credits include work on the original production of Miguiel Piineros, "Short Eyes" , The Broadway premiere of" Medea and Jason", David Mamets," A Life In The Theatre" ( The Marquis Display sits in his office to this day). David Frenchs ' " Leaving Home" .
The Performing Arts Center SUNY followed where Frank served on the staff, joined the faculty in the design /tech end of the theatre program and was the associate producer of the internationally acclaimed Pepsico Summerfare bringing the finest music, theatre and dance from Japan ,Indonesia, Austrailia, Europe , throughout the US and Canada, to the newly created Arts center.
Frank has been on the faculty at Western for 15 years,his primary focus is production currently serving as the Department Chair . At Western Frank teaches Technical Theatre , Lighting, Production and Performance, Childrens Theatre among other courses, and produces for the department at home in NY and at the Edinburgh International Fringe .
Frank has enjoyed guest assignments with The Aspen Music Festival, Directing childrens productions The Edinburgh Festival, as a Scenic and lighting Designer at The University of Pennsylvania, lighting modern dance at TRC. He believes that any student with the drive and commitment to the theatre will succeed and often shares stories of many successful former students.
Besides his BA Theatre Western Connecticut State University, Frank has his MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College
