{"id":2607,"date":"2022-06-09T02:41:08","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T02:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/theatrearts\/?page_id=2607"},"modified":"2023-09-10T14:39:04","modified_gmt":"2023-09-10T14:39:04","slug":"pam-mcdaniel-professor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/theatrearts\/pam-mcdaniel-professor\/","title":{"rendered":"Pam McDaniel &#8211; Professor, Coordinator of BFA Acting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/theatrearts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/128\/2016\/11\/mcdaniel.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"296\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pam McDaniel <\/strong><em>(Professor:\u00a0<\/em><i>Directing, Acting, Performing Shakespeare)\u00a0<\/i>is a professor of acting, directing, and play production. \u00a0During her time at Western she has directed main stage productions of <em>Major Barbara, Sweeney Todd, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, City of Angels, Cabaret, The Cherry Orchard, Nine, The Full Monty, The Mystery of Edwin Drood<\/em> and <em>Kiss Me Kate.<\/em> She also directed <em>Two Nights Near Doolin,<\/em> a play written by Western professor Louisa Burns-Bisogno. Her production of <em>The Cherry Orchard<\/em> received a Merit award as Outstanding Associate Production for the Region 1, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Through the support of a President\u2019s Initiative Fund Grant she adapted and directed a production of <em>A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em> for the Ives Summer Fine Arts series, which ran both summers of 2008 and 2009, and Reynard the Fox in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, she adapted and directed <em>The Merry Wives of Windsor<\/em> for the Ives Family Series, and in 2011, she created an original piece, <em>The Will of Love,<\/em> which was performed as WCSU\u2019s New York Show. Prior to coming to WCSU, she produced and directed extensively in San Francisco and Dallas\/Ft. Worth. She was a co-founder and artistic director of the San Francisco\u2019s Annual Working Women Festival spotlighting outstanding female theatre artists and she has worked with new plays for the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
