She is part of the Fose\/Verdon Legacy and teaches master classes for Steps,\u00a0Peridance\u00a0and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. She choreographed\u00a0<i>Mamma<\/i><i>\u00a0<\/i><i>Mia<\/i><i>\u00a0<\/i>directed by Terrence Mann at Connecticut Repertory Theatre.\u00a0Recently, she\u00a0choreographed the show\u00a0<i>Disaster<\/i>\u00a0for Connecticut Repertory Theater with Broadway director Jack Plotnick and star Seth Rudetsky. She also danced on the VMA Awards in 2019 with Taylor Swift in the opening number.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to that she choreographed the award-winning production of\u00a0<i>Evita\u00a0<\/i>at Western Connecticut State University\u00a0receiving the Distinguished Choreography Award from The Kennedy Center American College Theater Awards. In that same season she choreographed\u00a0<i>Violet\u00a0<\/i>for\u00a0WCSU. Mary Ann also choreographed the concert\u00a0<i>Tales of Love for<\/i>\u00a0the not-for profit arts organization Love\/Art \/Play. She teaches musical theater\/modern as an adjunct professor for WCSU. NYU and Hart\u00a0University as an adjunct. Mary Ann choreographed (with Lisa Gadja)\u00a0<i>Gypsy<\/i>\u00a0with Harbor Lights Productions and\u00a0<i>A Nightingale Sang<\/i>\u00a0at Westport Playhouse. She was Associate Choreographer for Susan Misner and Jonathon Bernstein\u2019s,\u00a0<i>The Shape She Makes<\/i>\u00a0at ART Theater in Cambridge, and for JoAnn Hunter on Barry Manilow\u2019s\u00a0<i>Harmony<\/i><i>\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Oliver<\/i>\u00a0at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>As a performer Mary Ann has\u00a0performed in 11 Broadway shows.\u00a0She\u2019s\u00a0played Young Claire in\u00a0John Kander\u00a0and\u00a0Fred\u00a0Ebb\u2019s,\u00a0<i>The Visit<\/i>, starring\u00a0Chita Rivera.\u00a0She\u00a0danced\u00a0in the films\u00a0<i>Rock of Ages\u00a0<\/i>and the Oscar award winning movie\u00a0<i>Chicago<\/i>. On Broadway she played Mona Page in\u00a0<i>Curtains\u00a0<\/i>starring\u00a0David Hyde Pierce\u00a0and in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of\u00a0<i>Curtains<\/i>, choreographed by JoAnn Hunter. Other\u00a0Broadway credits\u00a0include\u00a0<i>Contact; Seussical; Fosse; Chicago; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; Jerome Robbins<\/i><i>\u2019\u00a0<\/i><i>Broadway; Song and Dance; Goodbye Girl; Starlight Express<\/i><i>;\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Carrie<\/i><i>.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In addition to Broadway, Mary Ann has danced in eight productions\u00a0at\u00a0New York\u2019s City Center in the prestigious\u00a0<i>\u2018<\/i><i>Encore<\/i>\u00a0series. She has played the lead role of Anna in the York Theater\u2019s off-Broadway presentation of\u00a0<i>New Girl in Town<\/i>; Lola in Sacramento Music Circus\u2019s production of\u00a0<i>Damn Yankees<\/i>; and\u00a0Cerraine\u00a0at Boston\u2019s Huntington Theater in\u00a0<i>Lady\u00a0From\u00a0Maxims<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0She has danced in a variety of television roles, commercials, and films: Among these are the Oscar Award-winning film,\u00a0<i>Chicago<\/i>;\u00a0also,\u00a0<i>Rock of Ages<\/i><i>;<\/i>\u00a0The In Crowd;\u00a0<i>Portrait of a\u00a0Showgirl;\u00a0As the World Turns<\/i><i>;\u00a0<\/i>and this fall she was honored to dance with\u00a0The Muppets\u00a0in their latest adventure film,\u00a0<i>Letters to Santa<\/i>. Mary Ann\u2019s extensive dance career is on display in a\u00a0PBS documentary\u00a0titled,\u00a0<i>Working Dancers II<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Her vision of dance is shaped from working with the following choreographers and directors:\u00a0Jerome Robbins,\u00a0Graciella\u00a0Daniel,\u00a0Gwen Verdon,\u00a0Ann Reinking,\u00a0Kathleen\u00a0Marshal,\u00a0Susan Stroman, and\u00a0Rob Marshal.\u00a0These luminaries of the theater in addition to many others have inspired Mary Ann to pass on her artistic passion to others where she has\u00a0taught dance all over the world in universities and master classes, and she is on the faculty of\u00a0<i>Showstopper<\/i><i>\u00a0<\/i>Conventions. Mary Ann\u00a0has taught at several of the top universities including\u00a0NYU, Penn State,\u00a0and\u00a0Julliard.
