Ricky spent 1 year working at the Stella Adler Acting Studio, designing productions of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>Peer Gynt<\/i><\/span>,<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>Fen<\/i><\/span>, and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>Lysistrata<\/i><\/span>. Before moving to New York, Ricky designed and assisted on over 60 shows in the Chicago\u00a0area. He had the privilege of working with Redtwist Theater, Fox Valley Repertory, Light Opera Works, Bailiwick Theater, Red Tape Theater, Oak Park Festival Theatre, CityLit Theater, American Blues Theater, and Route 66.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font8\">Ricky is\u00a0the associate costume designer on Broadway&#8217;s<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>Anastasia<\/i><\/span>. Opening at the Hartford Stage in 2016, the musical transferred to Broadway in 2017, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Costume Design in a Musical. \u00a0He \u00a0Ricky has also served as the associate designer on various regional theater productions including<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>October Sky<\/i><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>(Old Globe, San Diego),<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>A Raisin in the Sun<\/i><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>(Timeline Theater, Chicago), and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<i>Concerning Strange Devices from the Distant West<\/i><\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>(Timeline Theater, Chicago).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font8\">Additionally, Ricky has\u00a0designed several dance pieces for the University of Hartford Hartt School of Dance. He\u00a0has also had the pleasure of being the\u00a0the assistant designer on numerous ballets including<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i>Whipped Cream<\/i><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0(American Ballet Theater),\u00a0<\/span><i>The Nutcracker<\/i><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0(Charlotte Ballet and Kansas City Ballet),\u00a0<\/span><i>Swan Lake<\/i><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0(Kansas City Ballet, additional costumes), and\u00a0<\/span><i>The Enchanted Toyshop<\/i><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0(Richmond Ballet). Ricky can also be seen\u00a0serving\u00a0as the costume consultant at American Dance\u00a0Machine for the 21st Century and the Chita River Awards.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font8\">Ricky, a proud member of USA 829, received his MFA in Production and Costume Design from Ohio University and his BA in Theater Design from Columbia College Chicago.
