Janelle Robinson<\/strong> (Adjunct Professor)\u00a0<\/em><\/span>has been teaching for the last 25 years. A seasoned performer,\u00a0Performances include originating the role of Mrs. Corry in Disney\/Cameron Mackintosh\u2019s production of\u00a0<\/span>Mary Poppins<\/i><\/span><\/span>; the revivals of\u00a0<\/i><\/span>Showboat<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/i>Oklahoma!<\/i><\/span>\u00a0as well as the 1st National Tours of\u00a0<\/i><\/span>Showboat<\/span><\/i>, playing Queenie and\u00a0<\/i><\/span>Thoroughly Modern Millie<\/span><\/i>\u00a0playing Ms. Flannery, u\/s Muzzie.\u00a0\u00a0She has worked at numerous\u00a0regional houses including Maine State Music Theater, Papermill Playhouse, North Shore Music Theater, Cleveland Playhouse, St. Louis Repertory and Playhouse on Park (World Premiere of HIGGINS IN HARLEM) and Penobscot Theatre Company.\u00a0She has worked with Hal Prince, Sir Richard Eyre, Michael Mayer, Trevor Nunn, Walter Bobbie, Susan Stroman, Rob Ashford, Wayne Cilento, Jeanine Tesori, Kevin Stites, Brad Haak, Eric Stern,\u00a0and others.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Presently, Ms. Robinson teaches at WCSU as well as The Hartt School. She has taught at The Juilliard Summer Institute, The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Fineline, Random Farms as well as numerous summer programs. In addition, she travels the country giving master classes.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ms. Robinson is a past recipient of The Richard Tucker Study Grant, The MacAllister Award, 2nd place in the Baltimore Opera Competition and most recently The Connecticut Critic Circle Award for\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/span>for her portrayal of Bloody Mary in STONC\u2019s production of\u00a0<\/i><\/span>South Pacific.<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She is a proud member of AEA and SAG\/AFTRA.\u00a0She holds degrees from The Hartt School, The Juilliard School and The Curtis Institute.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
