{"id":7,"date":"2017-05-05T17:04:07","date_gmt":"2017-05-05T17:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wcsu.wpengine.com\/womenscenter\/default\/"},"modified":"2025-07-17T13:30:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T13:30:49","slug":"default","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/thecenteree\/","title":{"rendered":"The Center for Empowerment and Education on Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/womenscenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/142\/2021\/10\/long-logo-300x70.png\" width=\"408\" height=\"95\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<div id=\"rightAccordion\" style=\"width: 206px\"><\/div>\n<p>In January of 2007, Western Connecticut State University and The Center for Empowerment and Education (CEE), formerly The Women&#8217;s Center of Greater Danbury, solidified a partnership by signing an agreement for CEE to provide our services to the WCSU community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"subTitle\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>CAMPUS SERVICES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>CEE is a confidential, no-cost resource for individuals of any gender identity on or off campus who have experienced or are experiencing any form of interpersonal violence, including but not limited to dating abuse, domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, or human trafficking.<\/strong> CEE staff are not mandated to report disclosures to any other office on campus, including the Title IX office, but are mandated reporters of child abuse\/neglect or threats of harm to self or others.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/thecenteree\/direct-services\/\"><strong>Direct Services<\/strong><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Individual Counseling<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Our campus advocates are state-certified domestic violence and sexual assault counselors per CGA 52-146k.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Advocacy<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><\/li>\n<li>Campus advocates can explain students\u2019 rights and options related to support services, reporting their experiences, and navigating systems including Title IX, Judicial hearings, reporting to WCSU Campus Police, applying for a restraining order, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support Groups<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Information and Referrals<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Counselor\/Advocates can refer and connect individuals to campus and community resources when appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Crisis Intervention and 24-Hour Hotlines:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Sexual Assault \u2013 (203) 731-5204<\/li>\n<li>Domestic Violence \u2013 (203) 731-5206<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/thecenteree\/contact\/\"><strong>Education, Training &amp;
