Online Support in the TRC

To prevent the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), beginning March 23rd, all tutoring at WCSU will be online. Academic Support Centers including the Tutoring Resource Center are working together to ensure that all Western students receive the assistance they need.

How to join an online session via Blackboard Collaborate:

  1. Make an appointment via MyWCOnline: https://wcsu.mywconline.net/
  2. The TRC will send an email to your @wcsu.edu confirming your online appointment
  3. A few minutes before your appointment, click the meeting room link in your confirmation email to join
  4. Enter your name and @wcsu.edu email
  5. Allow use of audio, microphone, and video on your device
  6. Use the chat box to let your tutor know you have joined or if you experience connection issues.

  • Learning to manage and balance your online classes
  • Navigating blackboard
  • Setting a study schedule, prioritizing, and staying on top of assignments
  • Tips for being successful in online classes
  • Study skills
  • Calculating your GPA and setting academic goals
  • Using campus resources and asking for help
