Under the Yellow Ribbon Program the VA will match the school&#8217;s contributions dollar-for-dollar to cover the cost differential between in-state and out-of-state students.<\/p>\n<p>To receive benefits under the Yellow Ribbon Program you must be eligible for the Post 9\/11 GI Bill \u00ae. at the 100% benefit level and at least one of these must be true:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You served an aggregate period of active duty of at least 36 months on or after September 11, 2001 and received an honorable discharge;<\/li>\n<li>You received a Purple Heart on or after September 11, 2001 and were honorably discharged after any amount of service;<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;re a Fry Scholar(eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program on or after August 1, 2018);<\/li>\n<li>You were discharged or released from active duty for a service-connected disability and served at least 30 continuous days (all at once, without a break) on or after September 11, 2001;<\/li>\n<li>You are a dependent child using benefits transferred by a Veteran.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Please note the following:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li>Effective August 1, 2022, you may become eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program if you&#8217;re currently an active-duty service member who qualifies at the 100% level (you already served on active duty for at least 36 months) or if you&#8217;re a spouse using the transferred benefits of an active-duty service member who meets these qualifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li>The Yellow Ribbon Program is limited to 25 students per academic year at WCSU on a first come first served basis.\u00a0 To sign up, please contact the WCSU Veterans Affair Coordinator, <a href=\"mailto:visokayk@wcsu.edu\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Kelly Visokay<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Out-of-state Post 9\/11 GI Bill\u00a0\u00ae\u00a0recipients may be eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program.
