Zach grew up in the small town of Colchester on the Eastern side of the state. He gained an interest in meteorology through everyday experiences with the weather and through studying it briefly in a middle school science class. Developing a great interest in the science behind weather, especially severe weather such as tornados and hurricanes, Zach knew this was what he wanted to study in college. Upon graduating high school he enrolled at Western Connecticut State University and three years later realized he had made one of the best decisions of his life. At WCSU, he is a member of the Meteorology Club and has formed lifelong friendships. After completing his bachelors degree, Zach would like to continue his schooling and complete his masters and doctorate in meteorology. Upon completion, he would like to find a job in the field as either a broadcast meteorologist or theoretical meteorologist.
