He graduated SUNY Maritime College with a degree in Marine Environmental Science and a minor in Meteorology and Oceanography. The minor helped him realize his love for the weather and he decided to continue his education in Meteorology. Combining this interest and weather and his hobby of doing voice work, Ryan wanted to get into forecasting. Outside of WCSU, Ryan teaches nature classes in Scouting BSA where he became an Eagle Scout.
