The Tenth Tri-State Weather Conference will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Science Building Room 125 on the Midtown Campus of Western Connecticut State University, 181 White Street, Danbury, Connecticut. Continental breakfast will be served from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m. in the Science Building Atrium. Please arrive early for check-in and breakfast.<\/p>\n

The conference is presented by the Meteorology Program at Western Connecticut State University and co-sponsored by the WCSU Student Chapter of the AMS, the New York City\/Long Island Chapter of the AMS, NOAA\/National Weather Service\/Upton, NY, NOAA\/National Weather Service\/Albany, NY, NOAA and the National Weather Service\/Boston\/Norton, MA. NOAA. The purpose of the conference is to enhance education, professional development, and communication among private and public sector meteorologists, researchers, educators, students, emergency management officials, and weather enthusiasts.\"\"<\/p>\n

Submissions, in the form of posters, are being solicited on high-impact weather events that affect the Tri-State region of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Potential topics would include but are not limited to, nor\u2018easters and winter weather, severe thunderstorms, tropical weather and hurricanes, climate change, and mesoscale meteorology. We are especially interested in posters about significant historical severe weather events from the region from the past twenty-five, fifty, seventy-five, and one hundred years or more.<\/p>\n

The registration fee is $30<\/strong>\u00a0and will\u00a0include a continental breakfast and a pizza\/salad bar lunch<\/strong>, along with conference materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

September 9th, 2026 is the Cut-Off Date as any guest rooms not reserved under the room block are returned to the Best Western’s hotel general inventory to be sold at full price. The guests will no longer have access to the room block or the discounted guest room rate. If we have rooms available they are welcome to reserve but have them mention that they are indeed attending with this specific group so notes are made on their reservation and the hotel knows to include them in room assignments.
