Veterans Affairs

Introduction

Good day and thank you for considering Western Connecticut State University as your home to further your education, grow your mind and start the career you have been searching for!  WCSU offers a full variety of degree programs, meaningful internships, as well as unparalleled Veterans Affairs educational benefits expertise.  These combinations make WCSU stand above all other universities as the place for student-veterans in Connecticut and beyond!

Our dedication to current and former servicemembers is very deep – so deep in fact we are proud to have Chuck the Colonial as our school mascot.  Our mission is to make the transition from servicemember to student to workforce industry leader as seamless as possible.  WCSU is home to the first Veterans Affairs Coordinator, CPT Matthew Kuchta, a current member of the Connecticut Army National Guard.  The VA Coordinator oversees all WCSU services for student-veterans in order to provide a consistent and unified voice.  This approach eliminates the guess-work involved with determining eligibility for VA educational benefits and how to best use such benefits to earn one’s degree.  Simply send us an e-mail or schedule an appointment to meet with the VA Coordinator to begin your future, today!

Please be sure to explore our website where you can view our many degree program offerings, calculate out-of-pocket expenses via the VA GI Bill calculator, become a part of the WCSU Student-Veterans Organization as well as all WCSU has to offer.  We look forward to serving all who have so selflessly served us!
