Staying healthy in winter

At this time of year, respiratory illnesses like colds or Influenza are very common. We are spending more time indoors in the winter months, which helps the viruses spread quickly from person to person. Intestinal viruses, which might cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea are also very common.

Here are some tips for keeping you healthy:

1. Wash your hands.

2. Cover your cough.

3. Don’t share food or eating utensils.

4. Wash fruits and vegetables before eating them.

5. If you get sick, go home if you can (notify your RD) and isolate yourself to prevent further spread of illness.

6. Don’t forget to get a flu shot!
