Student Veterans Organization

The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) is a club that was established in 2009 to acknowledge and support the needs of WCSU’s military servicemen and women.  Officially recognized and endorsed by the Student Government Association, the SVO is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students who wish to support and serve other students.  Although most members are Veterans, this is not a requirement.  All students are welcome to join!

The SVO will be hosting social events and will sponsor a variety of fundraising activities in the coming year.  Additionally, the SVO leaders work hard to provide the necessary resources, network support, and advocacy to ensure student Veterans can effectively connect and make new social bonds.  With the continued help and support of WCSU’s dedicated faculty, staff, and generous contributions made by members of the Danbury area, the SVO plans to continue expanding its support of Veterans at WCSU and our troops around the world.

The SVO generally meet every other week to socialize, provide outreach, and plan for future events.  The club is located in the Student Center, Room #208 (Midtown Campus).  This room was dedicated for use by WCSU to honor and support our student Veterans.

The SVO offers student Veterans:

  • Four semi-private work stations, equipped with computers and printers
  • TV lounge area
  • Snacks, coffee and refrigerator
  • 24-hour access with your WestConnect Card (student ID card)
