SYNOPSIS
Music genres establish and validate forms of music, allowing them to grow a fanbase and become widespread. This causes music to have an impact that stretches across many levels, both personal and societal. We live in a musical world, and it is safe to assume that most people have some musical preference. Our taste in music is molded and shaped throughout our lives by the people, events, and decisions we encounter. Using Historical, Psychological, and Scientific research we are able to paint a larger picture about the correlation of music genres and society.
Musical Decades tackles the last five decades of the 20th Century. The film highlights some of the most important societal and historical events of those time periods. The music is paired with real period footage to add another dimension to the existing narrative.
